David L. Rider is a founding partner of the firm and head of the firm’s corporate department. His principal areas of interest are corporate law, labor law, banking law, municipal law, trusts and estates, and health care law. 

Mr. Rider represents both publicly-held and private corporations, hospitals, banks, and financial institutions. He also serves as counsel to several multi-employer trust funds and tax-qualified charitable organizations and banks. He has acted as Town Attorney to the Town of Newburgh (1989-93) and as Corporation Counsel to the City of Newburgh (2002-03). 

Mr. Rider frequently lectures before professional associations in the areas of fringe benefit law, administrative techniques and fiduciary responsibilities and standards. 

Mr. Rider received his B.A. from Cornell University in 1962 and his J.D. from Yale Law School in 1965. During 1965-66 he served as First Lieutenant, Intelligence, in the U.S. Army in Southeast Asia.

He is a member of the New York State Bar Association and the American Bar Association. He has also served as president of the Orange County Bar Association (1985-87) and was as an appointee to the Ninth Judicial District Grievance Committee (1981-88).
