Deborah Weisman-Estis will be presented with the prestigious Marilyn R. Menge Award at this year's Women's Bar Association of the State of New York Convention ("WBASNY"), to be held at the Water's Edge Resort & Spa in Westbrook, Connecticut on May 18-21, 2017.  This Award is given to an outstanding member of the WBASNY who has made valuable and significant contributions to a chapter of the statewide organization.  Congratulations, Deborah!

 

Deborah Estis, one of the Past Presidents of the Women's Bar Association of Orange and Sullivan Counties at the celebration of 35 years of the organization.  Congratulations!

Deborah Estis will be a featured speaker at the complimentary event Planning for Your Financial Health - Myths and Realities on May 19, 2015 beginning at 5:00 p.m. for check-in.  RSVP to (845)569-3286 by May 11, 2015 to attend.  The Program runs from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. followed by a reception with light refreshments.

David Rider was honored at the Dreamcatcher's Event at Anthony's Pier 9 on April 9, 2015.  Congratulations, David!

Michael Matsler and Jeffrey Sculley hosted a Breakfast Seminar entitled Employment Law at Mount Saint Mary College on March 3, 2015 to discuss current hot topics every employer needs to know when it comes to recruiting, interviewing and hiring new employees. Special emphasis was given with regard to employer's rights and legal obligations with respect to job candidates having a criminal record and the strict legal requirements governing what employers can and cannot legally do and what must be done in order to be in compliance with the law.  This Seminar introduced attendees to Exodus Transitional Community, Inc. whose Program Directors play a mentoring role as a bridge between potential employers and job candidates seeking to prove they are capable of becoming productive loyal employees despite misakes made in their former lives.

Justin Rider was elected to the Board of Directors for the Orange County Partnership, and appointed Chair Elect for the Orange County Citizens Foundation.

Jeff Sculley has been selected to chair Orange AHRC's Dreamcatchers event committee for the April 9, 2014 annual dinner and program.  Save the date to support Orange AHRC's important work of empowering disabled members of the community!

Local Attorney to Host Seminars on Improv Comedy

New Windsor, NY - Local attorney Jefferey Sculley hosted several luncheon seminars on the business and training applications of improvisational acting and comedy. The first was for the Independent Living Board of Directors and involved the applied use of improvisational techniques to generate possible intellectual properties such as trademarks and slogans. The second session was for the Newburgh Rotary Club and focussed on using improvisation to create cohesive and creative work groups and to improve the customer communication and relationship skills of employees.
